#MeetTheTeam: Batia Efrat (Copywriter)
Meet Batia, the resident copywriter and social media manager at Seed – Sustainable Design Studio. We asked her a few questions so you can get to know who she is a little better.
Who is your biggest inspiration, or someone you look up to?
I really look up to individuals who are breaking boundaries, challenging the status quo and using their creativity to uplift and empower other people – especially those who do not have a voice.
In your opinion, what is your greatest asset?
I believe that my passion is what separates me from the crowd. I have an insatiable urge to keep challenging myself and those around me. I believe that change is the only constant thing in this world; and we must learn to move with it, or risk being left behind.
What’s your favourite thing to do when you’re not in the office?
I enjoy writing poetry, relaxing with friends and family, attending music festivals out of town and working on my blog.
How do you give back to your community?
I try to do pro bono work where possible. I am also head writer for On The Line where I write about social issues from an intersectional perspective. I believe that this is necessary to help educate my peers as to how we can overcome oppression to create a more inclusive, equal society for all.
What’s your most prized gadget or creative tool?
My mind. It runs on creative juices not electricity which is pretty cool.
If you could give your younger self some advice what would it be?
Have confidence in yourself. You don’t need validation from other people to realise your value.
